Circlon | group expands its Professional Services team

The world of mobile data capture has been the core competence of the Circlon | group for many years. In addition to our dedicated software solutions and extensive hardware expertise, a team of experts takes care of special customer requirements in the areas of EMM (Enterprise Mobility Management with SOTI), Enterprise Wireless LAN, Enterprise Security NAC (Network Access Control).

As the demand for professional WLAN and mobile device management solutions is constantly growing, the Circlon | group has decided to further expand this area of expertise. As of 1 May, Pascal Meger will therefore be taking on the management of our Professional Services business unit. With Lukas Windhorst, another expert with extensive SOTI and WLAN experience has also been added to the team.

Proactive customer communication and individual concepts

Pascal Meger has already been with the company as a Business Development Expert since August 2020. He and his team have many years of project experience in the areas of security, wired and wireless and maintain a close exchange with the major technology partners (including Extreme Network Associate, Certified Wireless Network, Cisco Certified Network Associate).For his new responsibility, Pascal Meger defines his goals as follows: “We aim to promote proactive customer communication and not just passively wait for support requests. In this way, we can directly identify potentials based on the requirement, offer individually tailored concepts, workshops, training courses or wireless site surveys and efficiently accelerate the diagnosis during troubleshooting. What is more, we see ourselves as fully supporting the sales department in identifying suitable products and alternatives even faster in line with customer requirements.”

Markus Mosebach will push the OnePlatform strategy as the new Chief Technology Officer

Markus Mosebach has been the new CTO of the entire Circlon | group since 1 April 2021. In this role, he will be responsible for product and project development and innovation management across all sites and will drive the OnePlatform strategy by reorganising development. In future, sales and development will move closer together in order to allow customer requirements to be incorporated into development results more quickly.

Through the planned restructuring in development and a new, more efficient development process, the Circlon | group is creating greater scope for innovation and in turn the conditions for cross-sector growth. Markus Mosebach will establish new technologies, methods and toolchains to further promote the Circlon | group’s expertise as a full-service solution provider for mobile data capture.

Phillip Wagner, CEO of the Circlon | group, has this to say about the new appointment: “As the Circlon | group, we must position ourselves optimally in the area of our development for the future challenges. As the new CTO, Markus Mosebach will set the right course to realise our OnePlatform strategy. Implement projects more efficiently

By implementing all existing solutions on a OnePlatform architecture, the Circlon | group can realise future projects even more efficiently. To achieve this, Markus Mosebach’s first step will be to help implement the product portfolio more than before in configurable best practices.

Phillip Wagner is the new Managing Director of the Circlon | group

In his role as the Group’s new CEO, Phillip Wagner will be responsible for managing the company and optimising processes for further growth and will play a key role in positioning Circlon | group as a full-service solution provider for mobile data capture. 

With the appointment of a new managing director, the Circlon | group is underpinning the next step in the further development of its corporate processes. Phillip Wagner joined the Circlon | group as the new CEO at the beginning of March and will help to consistently pursue the new direction that has been initiated. In particular, the implementation of the OnePlatform strategy – the networked interaction of mobile data capture devices with the compatible software solutions Circlon | Operate and Circlon | Track & Trace – will be one of his main tasks. 

The further development of new paths – a reliable partner for digitalisation 

The Circlon | group provides Europe’s largest industrial, transport, logistics and retail companies with smart solutions for complex data capture processes. With the development of the solutions, Phillip Wagner will continue and support the newly chosen path taken by the Circlon | group. This also includes the implementation of the new OnePlatform: the software applications Circlon | Track & Trace, Circlon | Go and Circlon | Operate are now networked and interact with each other. 

Phillip Wagner says of his methodical planning: “We intend to be the fast, reliable and smart partner for our customers when it comes to optimisation and digitalisation in the movement of goods. With Phillip Wagner and his extensive experience at the helm of a wide range of companies, the Circlon | group is excellently equipped for new challenges. He acquired his many years of expert knowledge in almost 20 years of operational management after his commercial training and the successful completion of his studies in business administration and an MBA in the USA. Phillip Wagner has already worked in a wide variety of industries, his portfolio ranges from service and retail companies to various manufacturing companies. Most recently, he was Managing Director at a Munich-based private equity company. 

Phillip Wagner has an excellent knowledge in the field of corporate governance and innovative processes for business regeneration. The Circlon | group will now benefit from the wealth of experience that he has gained in these areas over the years.

MEWA Textil-Service AG relies on the digital solution concept of the Circlon | group

Successful implementation of individual service solutions and a new generation of mobile devices for frontline staff.

The initial situation

MEWA Textil-Service is a group of companies in the textile management service sector with 45 sites in 14 European countries. The group has its administrative headquarters in Wiesbaden and, with around 5,700 employees, is one of the leading textile service providers for workwear and an expert in topics such as hygiene, cleanliness and microbiological safety. Customers are supplied by the company’s own fleet of around 590 vehicles.

A new, more efficient generation of mobile devices was to be introduced for the service logistics area, with a simultaneous changeover from Windows to Android. The most important requirement for the digital solution was a small-format but robust enterprise device for the service drivers, with an optimal price-performance ratio and the corresponding “all-round carefree service package” in the background.

The problem solution

MEWA Textil-Service AG commissioned Circlon | group with the implementation of its individually tailored Circlon | Operate solution and the staging of rugged smartphones as new driver devices for the truck fleet. The rollout started in June 2020, and to date 50% of the planned total project volume of 800 mobile devices have already been successfully rolled out at 6 sites in Germany and a further 8 countries in Europe. The rugged smartphone replaces the old device pool and increases the performance of each individual member of the MEWA team by enabling them to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with the device. This optimises logistical operational processes, resulting in time and cost savings.

The services of the Circlon | Operate solution running in the background ensure both centralised digital management of the MEWA device pool and rapid pool replacement in the event of a defective device. RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) cases are handled via a swap exchange, i.e. if necessary, an intact device from the pool is delivered to the respective site in a swap box; in return, the defective device is returned in it, checked and repaired if possible. With this seamless device availability in the event of a return, the customer remains operational and has an overview of the current status of the devices in Circlon | Operate at all times.

The successes

The Circlon | group sees itself as a full-service solution provider for its customers. In addition to the consulting and procurement of the pure hardware, the focus is also on service in the interests of the customer for the successful implementation of the project. In the rollout to date, MEWA Textil-Service AG can look back on the successful implementation of the new smart devices for the drivers of the truck fleet, which help to optimise logistical processes. The company sees a further significant advantage in the digitalisation or automation of device management through to device replacement and the resulting increased transparency in the relevant processes.

Circlon | group appoints Senior Sales Manager Christian Cordes as specialist for the healthcare market

Christian Cordes joined the company in November to further establish the Circlon | group as a solution provider for mobile applications and hardware in the healthcare market.

The projects that the Circlon | group implements for its customers are both sophisticated and complex. Consequently, personnel development with highly qualified employees is one of the company’s key strategies. This is also reflected in the current appointment to the position of Senior Sales Manager. With Christian Cordes, the Circlon | group is bringing an expert into the sales team who has many years of experience when it comes to digital solutions for the healthcare sector and who has extensive know-how in the area of mobile data capture.

Roberto Meda is a revenue for extending the International Sales Channel of the Circlon | group

There is a lot to do – Roberto Meda will focus on new business opportunities of the Circlon | group to drive global software sales on partner and customers.

In this function, Roberto will focus on providing strategic consulting, solution design and primary technical presales and project management, to support Circlon I Operate partner and customers.

Roberto will lead and develop a talented partners network to establish long term business relationships. He is integral part of the sales team to close major new customer opportunities. Roberto says of his new role, “This is a new important and stimulating challenge for me, which I hope will lead me to increase my skills. The primary focus is on recruiting and remain partner of the conviction on the new business opportunities that Circlon I Operate can generate today, and in the future. There is a lot to do, and it is precisely for this reason that I am looking forward to undertake this new adventure.”

Roberto brings with him extensive experience from his more than 30 years in the Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) market and 15 years at Honeywell Safety and Productivity, where he led the Solution Architect Team EMEA as Director Presales and Service. There he implemented at last a management cycle to increase productivity, profitability and control successfully. Numerous certificates illustrate Robertos far-reaching education, including CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator), CWSP (Certified Wireless Security Professional), ICND 2.1 Cisco as well as SOTI Certification.

Circlon | group: Your partner for the digital transformation in the waste management sector

As a leading solution provider, the Circlon | group offers solution concepts and customised digitalisation options for waste management companies

Driver devices for the digital processing of driving jobs

For a well-known waste management company with 300 trucks and 145 service vehicles in its fleet, the Circlon | group supplied 250 industrial tablets as driver devices for the digital processing of driving jobs. The tablet is based on the Android 7 Nougat operating system and, in addition to telecommunications and navigation, provides all the functions that drivers need.

Digital process control

Instead of pen and paper, the company now uses the state-of-the-art digital control system for documentation purposes to optimise processes, thereby significantly minimising the error rate. In the test phase, the company is also using GPS location trackers with integrated warning systems to track disposal containers. As a solution provider, the Circlon | group is using the Graphmaster navigation software with swarm intelligence in a pilot project. The software generates optimised route suggestions for the fleet in daily traffic, thus saving time and reducing emissions.

Monitoring the waste containers by barcode

The driver devices of waste containers are an important issue for waste management companies. For this reason, the Circlon | group has introduced the marking of containers with weather-resistant QR barcode labels for identification at a large waste management company. Around 3,000 containers at a depot can now be precisely located and their condition checked. Costs due to stolen and unrecovered containers are now a thing of the past.

Driver devices optimise processes

The delivery of driver devices for the digitalisation of driving jobs is also being tested. The acquisition of vehicle data using a standardised interface contributes to the successful completion of a driving job. Once the dispatch department has set up the route planning, the drivers of a fleet receive their jobs on the mobile driver device. They can document the activities there or start navigation to the respective destination. In this way, processes are regulated and documented in a standardised way, and costs and time resources can be saved.

Access and departure monitoring with connection to the customer system

For a recycling company, the Circlon | group has implemented a solution for the registration of the fleet and its cargo on arrival and departure. For this purpose, an arrival and departure monitoring system for trucks and containers using RFID or UHF (ultra high frequency) identification was installed at this site. The company’s own trucks passing through the company premises at the entrance and exit gates are registered in the windscreen using an RFID windscreen tag. The respective containers carried by the truck are additionally equipped with a permanently installed UHF hard tag for identification and inventory. This is achieved via installed RFID outdoor readers with additional traffic light signals indicating whether the tags have been registered. The recorded data is then forwarded to the central customer system via an interface.

Optimised processes with Circlon | Track & Trace in digital shipment tracking for one of the largest kitchen manufacturers in Europe

The Circlon | group has developed a Track & Trace solution for Häcker Küchen, which manages tour data and improves the digital delivery process of the products up to their complete delivery to the customer.

The starting position

Häcker Küchen is one of the largest kitchen manufacturers in Europe and produces 950 custom-made kitchens a day in the traditional family business on over 260,000 sqm with 1,836 people and supplies many dealers worldwide. The company’s existing strengths of networked and digitised processes in production were to be augmented by digitised tracking and tracing in order to meet the high quality and sustainability standards here as well. The most important requirement for a digital solution for tracking and tracing was to achieve a higher degree of transparency and to know at all times when the customers in the specialist trade receive the goods in full.

The solution

Häcker Küchen commissioned the Circlon | group with the implementation of its Circlon | Track & Trace solution, which was extended to include customer-specific processes. The software manages all route data transparently for Häcker and optimises the delivery of the goods to the specialist trade through an intuitive interface for drivers and stand-ins. This enables logistics and operating processes to be digitised and increased, resulting in time and cost savings.

The successes

Häcker Küchen is impressed with the Track & Trace solution because it could be seamlessly integrated into the existing infrastructure and the requirement to achieve a higher degree of transparency in the delivery process was satisfied. In addition, far fewer paper documents are produced, which is better for the environment. Häcker Küchen sees a further advantage in the fact that, thanks to the feedback in real time, expected returns can for example already be processed by the service agent when the driver is still at the customer’s.

Pascal Meger supports the Circlon | group as Business Development Expert

With Pascal Meger, the Circlon | group is strengthening its focus as a solution provider in a bid to offer its customers solution-oriented services and process know-how and to respond even better to customer needs.

Pascal Meger wird in seiner Rolle als Consultant Enterprise WiFi und Mobile Data Capture das Team Business Development unterstützen. Er versteht sich als Schnittstelle zwischen Kunden und Vertriebsteam für die Beratung bzw. Unterstützung bei der Planung und des Designs komplexer WiFi Umgebungen. Als Certified Wireless Network Administrator arbeitet er mit seinen Kompetenzen Sicherheitskonzepte aus und bringt alle Fähigkeiten mit, die zur Anforderungsanalyse und für die Projektplanung im Bereich WiFi aus technischer Sicht eine Bereicherung für die Gruppe darstellen.

Pascal Meger beschreibt sein Handeln wie folgt: „Ich fühle mich als Consultant mit dem Skill eines Technikers und 15 Jahren Erfahrung. Die Gespräche mit Kunden und Partnern machen mir Spaß.
